preparation for the 25th Anniversary CSIET Annual Meeting in Alexandria, Virginia, October
22-24, 2009, our board and staff are soliciting guidance and feedback from our members.
Our goal is to increase participation and make the meeting more useful. CSIET is also
planning to hold a special event to commemorate this milestone anniversary and welcomes
any suggestions you may have.

We are
pleased to announce the launch of our newly revamped website. Thanks to oversight and guidance
by the CSIET Public
Outreach Working Group and Beth Oliver on our staff, we have reorganized the site and
added many new features. The CSIET State & Local
database of school policies has been updated and now includes links to over 185 school
districts policies relating to youth exchanges. Going forward, this database will be
updated monthly, so check back. Also, we have loaded an interactive
agenda from the 2009 National School Conference on International Youth Exchange that
provide links to hand-outs and presentations. Tomorrow, the 2009 CSIET youth
exchange statistics report will be ready and available our site.

this page is intended to serve as a central resource for schools on issues and policies
related to international youth exchanges.
“Members
Only” section: This section has been re-worked done with more
information, including a reference page on J-visa rules, regulations and policies
statements. As a reminder, the log in name is: 2008-09 Member and the password: international
(please do not forward the login and password information as this is benefit for CSIET
members only).
Media Center: this is new page
on the site to help our community proactively interact with the media. We will be
building the “Youth Exchange in the New” section to include more links to the
many positive media hits these programs generate. Please send us links to any
positive youth exchange stories you see so we can load them to our site.
Promotional
Page (coming soon): this page will serve as the landing page for our PSA campaign to
encourage hosting. It will include audio downloads for the radio ads and
downloadable files for the print ad as well. This page will go live towards the end
of March
